July 21, 2009

Washington, D.C.—Nevada Senator Harry Reid announced today his appointment of two Nevadans to the commission that is organizing events commemorating the 100th birthday of the nation’s 40th president, Ronald Reagan. Sig Rogich and Frank Fahrenkopf will serve on the commission until it terminates in May of 2011. The commission has 11 members and will plan activities, funded by private contributions, throughout the year to celebrate the life and presidency of Ronald Reagan.

Rogich is a Nevada business and political consultant. He also severed as a senior advisor to President George Herbert Walker Bush. Fahrenkopf, a graduate of the University of Nevada-Reno and the president and CEO of the American Gaming Association served as the Chairman of the Republican National Committee for a record six years.

“Nevadans have called Ronald Reagan our neighbor, our leader and our friend,” said Reid. “Sig and Frank will do an excellent job commemorating his life and presidency and honoring his memory during the year of his 100th birthday.”
